#a lot of people seem to think this game is all about patriotism and screaming FUCK YEAH AMERRKUH from the treetops #but i have reason to believe it’s going to be so much more than your average run-of-the-mill drivel#connor is a mohawk indian with a british father of all things #so what was the nature of that relationship? considering this is a heavily layered period of history we could speculate #and i feel like connor’s background alone gives hope #that the story will incorporate a side of the revolution/colonialism that is too often brushed under the carpet in these contexts #or grossly marginalized (in movies and games and books)#so not only is he trying to help the assassins defeat the templars but he’s trying to save his own people and give them a place #in the new america #we obviously all know the history by now and that makes it heartbreaking #it’s interesting and there is such potential for greatness here from ubisoft’s side #we all know altair was driven by duty and ezio’s character was driven by revenge #but now we get this character who is fresh and earnest and perhaps more real too? #i want his native american heritage to play a substantial role in the story and i want ubisoft to be honest and true and do it justice #i really do #and let’s remember they are not going to focus everything on a single event here #i know they are advertising it right now with the american flag and making it scream REV WAR GAME to get people excited #and set the theme #but the whole game is not going to revolve around the battle of yorktown or something #it will begin with his birth and go far beyond the end of the revolutionary war #there are more stories to tell about this era than just the white man’s fight okay #it’s this badass mofo’s story #whom i am ready to love with all of my heart #pls don’t fail me ubisoft
